Ali: Good luck in medical school at Northstate!
Sup: Good luck in your postdoc at Stanford!
Sandeep and Sammie presented posters at the ISSCR annual meeting in Boston.
Samantha was selected for a BSCRC-Rose Hills Foundation award for researching "Mechanisms of axonal growth promotion by neural stem cells and progenitor cells".
Sup's Neuron paper is given a "very good" rating on F1000: https://f1000.com/prime/727537065
Paola Bovolenta writes: ".. the results provide a novel view of the mechanism by which Netrin1 promotes axon guidance based on what it seems pure adhesion."
Madeline successfully defends her thesis!
Sup's Neuron paper is given an "exceptional" rating on F1000: https://f1000.com/prime/727537065
Geoffery Goodhill and Brendan Bicknell write: "Netrin-1 was the textbook example of chemotropic guidance, and one of the very few examples of putative guidance factors ever observed in a gradient in vivo. These new results suggest a shift in thinking about axon guidance more broadly, and may prove to be a major turning point in the field."
